What Is Daxxify?
Daxxify, or Daxi, uses a purified botulinum toxin type A protein (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm). Daxxify temporarily blocks the nerve signals to the target muscles when injected, reducing their contraction to soften expression lines.
What distinguishes Daxxify from other neurotoxins is the active ingredient it uses to prevent nerve signals from reaching the muscles and causing them to contract. This is attached to a protein, which makes Daxxify’s effects on the injected muscles last longer.
Daxxify has the distinction of being the first injectable neurotoxin formulation stabilized by a novel peptide. This means it does not use animal or human byproducts.

THE PROCEDURE
Daxxify injections are very quick and convenient. After the injection sites are cleansed, they will be marked as a guide for the injector. Small amounts of Daxxify will then be delivered to the targeted muscles using a small needle. After this, the treatment process will be complete.
DAXXIFY AFTERCARE
Daxxify has no downtime or recovery time, so you can resume your daily routine immediately after getting the injections. The treatment area might have temporary swelling, redness, or bruising; these generally disappear an hour after the procedure. In rare cases, some patients may experience drooping eyelids, mild muscle weakness, or loss of bladder control, but these typically resolve on their own.

What is the difference between Daxxify and other Neuromodulators?
The results of Botox and other neuromodulator treatments typically last around three to four months, while Daxxify’s results last for around six months.
Another major difference is that neuromodulators contain human serum albumin, whereas Daxxify doesn’t feature any kind of animal products. Instead, Daxxify contains peptides.
Will my Daxxify treatment hurt?
Daxxify treatments are not typically painful. You might feel a little pinch during the injection, just like you would with any other injection. If you want to avoid this, you may ask for a topical numbing cream, or we can apply ice on the treatment area beforehand.
We recommend against the use of muscle relaxants before your appointment, as these may interact with the daxibotulinumtoxina and potentially increase the risk of side effects.
How soon will I see results?
You will see the effects of Daxxify within a few days after the treatment. Its full results can be seen after around three weeks.
Does Daxxify have any side effects?
Daxxify is generally well-tolerated, but like all botulinum toxin products, there are potential side effects to be aware of. The most common side effects of Daxxify include mild discomfort at the injection site, temporary muscle weakness, or minor bruising and swelling. Some patients may experience drooping eyelids (also known as ptosis), which is a known effect of botulinum toxin products.
In rare cases, there could be more serious side effects, such as allergic reactions, difficulty swallowing, or the spread of the toxin, which may cause facial paresis or even cervical dystonia.
