What Is Cellulite?
Most people think of cellulite as a dimpling of the skin that creates an uneven and embarrassing appearance. However, people are typically unaware of the reason why cellulite appears the way it does.
Beneath the skin are fibrous bands of collagen known as septa. These septa connect the skin to the muscles and are surrounded by fat cells. When the septa become stiff and tight as a result of aging, hormonal fluctuations, and weight gain, they pull down the skin and create cellulite dimples.
Cellulite is a very common issue, especially for women; over 90% of women experience this problem. It is typically present on the buttocks, thighs, upper arms, and abdomen. It increases with age and is genetic.
With Resonic™, we can correct the root cause of cellulite’s appearance, releasing the septa and allowing the skin to become smooth once more.
How Does Resonic™ Work?
Resonic™ uses Rapid Acoustic Pulse technology to address cellulite. It applies high-frequency soundwaves in rapid cycles up to fifty times a second. These soundwaves travel safely through the skin to reach the septa, causing them to stop pulling down the skin. As a result, the skin becomes smooth and free of cellulite. The skin is not damaged during this process.
Your Treatment Session
The Resonic™ treatment process only takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Because it is non-invasive and not painful, no anesthesia of any kind is needed.
At the start of the procedure, the Resonic™ paddles are placed directly on the skin of the treatment area. The power of the soundwaves is gradually amplified throughout the session. The process is quite comfortable and often feels like a deep-tissue massage.
After Your Treatment Session
Once your Resonic™ treatment session is finished, you can return to your everyday activities without downtime or recovery time. You may notice redness, warmth, and tingling in the treated region. Some patients report feeling slightly sore, similar to the aftereffects of a rigorous workout.
The results of a Resonic™ treatment will be noticeable around 45 minutes after the session and will improve as time goes on.
Your Consultation
Before a Resonic™ treatment, you will need to arrange a consultation at our office to ensure that you are a good candidate for the procedure. Most patients are good candidates for Resonic™. However, you may not be an ideal candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
During your consultation, the areas in need of treatment will be examined. You will learn more about the procedure, including preparation and aftercare steps.
To prepare for the treatment, you’ll need to shave the targeted areas and applying tanning products, oils, and lotions to the regions.
